Early in the morning, at sunrise, the first walkers and joggers are on our ways. In the clear morning air they revive body, mind and soul. Then how about an extended hike? In the direction of the Rerik is the European cycling and hiking trail E9, in the direction of the seaside resort Heiligendamm invites a hiking trail along the steep coast to a tour with lots of resting possibilities. With the Kühlungsborner map you can find yourself in the largest seaside resort. And anyone who has forgotten his bike home will find the right vehicle at one of the numerous bike rental stations in Kühlungsborn.
The varied landscape in and around Kühlungsborn is a real paradise. All year round starting from the guest's house (Haus des Gastes), guided hikes. With small stops and stories it is then 4-5 hours with hiking shoes through the multifaceted natural Kühlungsborns. And if you are a passionate hiker, you can take part in the traditional Baltic coast Marathon March, which attracts numerous hiking enthusiasts each year in September.
Mondays 10 am – To the Bastorfer lighthouse, (4-5 hours, 16 km). The trail leads past the nature reserve Riedensee with its special flora and fauna. There is the possibility to stop at the lighthouse. In Bastorf there is the possibility to return by bus. The way back takes you through the Panorama Trail on the edge of the Kühlung with beautiful views of the Baltic Sea.
Wednesdays 10 am – For experienced hikers it is possible to go on alternating routes through the beautiful nature on the Baltic coast and into the wildly romantic Kühlung. (4 – 6 hours, 15 – 20 km).
Every third Sunday of the month. At 10:00 pm to the Atelier Haus Rösler-Kröhnke. The hike goes over Wittenbeck to the studio house. There you will find Mrs. Kröhnke with a small snack in her studio house on the edge of the Kühlung. It then shows us a cross-section of the artistic work of three generations of the Rösler-Kröhnke family. Continue over the butt trail and the Castle Road. Duration: approx. 4 hours.
